I just read the first book of my summer reading! I am so excited to have time to read again! Only one more week left of school before I am out for the summer!
I read the Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society and I loved it! Imagine a beautiful Island in the English Channel where the rich englishmen build homes and vactioned and the locals are normal everyday kinda people with their own quirky whistles and bells. Everything there is normal, unitl the day the Island is taken over by the Nazi's. The islanders world is turned upside down and they surprisingly find that their only way to cope is through Literature.
This book will inspire you write more letters!
When this novel ended I felt that a new friendship had blossomed. I wanted to take book, wrap a ribbon around it like a bunch of old love letters, and put it in the attic for future me to discover, dust off and be delighted all over again.
