am radio

AM radio, I just can't get enough of AM radio! I can't exactly pin point when this began but now I am a conservative AM radio junkie!:)

FM used to be my wave length of choice but now there really isn't much good music to listen too. So at first I turned to my ipod. Okay, there is a ton to lisen to on my ipod. I have over 1000 songs, but they have gotten stale. So I turned to old CDs, see stale comment above. I have not made time to get on line and search out new bands and am in a music slump but haven't really cared because of AM radio!

I am in AM radio madness! Glenn Beck, Rush (ok, not Rush, ok, maybe just once or twice but really not a lot.) Michael Smerconish, Hannity! I listen to them all! What is really crazy is that I was never a conservative-- Conservative? What! They are crazy people!I have always been pretty moderate in my politics until now. I feel so old! Never in my life did I imagine myself listening to conservative radio. If I listened to talk radio at all it was always cool trendy NPR or the traffic report but not Rush Limbaugh! Check my hair, do you see any grey hairs?

I guess what it boils down to is that I don't trust what is going on in our political system and what I am hearing on those AM waves is striking a cord with my heart. We are in dangerous times and we do need to be prepared. There is evil in the world and we can't just go with flow anymore trusting those in power to do right by us. We need to pay attention. Tough questions need to be asked. AM radio is where the tough questions are being asked.

So if you call me a conservative I may answer but if you call me a republican, well we might have words :)

I LOVE YOU KRISTIN!! I have felt the same way for some time now. I have been listening to both NPR and conservative radio. The music these days is not bringing me anything good. (Although secrectly I like Hannah Montana) I too think we should stop going with the flow and really listen to what is being said and by whom. I have found a wonderful website too. It is townhall.com it is full of conservative commentary. My favorite is Thomas Sowell. Check it out. I miss you and wish I could see you.

I like NPR, for sure, but not enough to listen often. As for conservative talk radio, I'm probably more conservative than I was a year ago, but all the worries about the US turning into socialism -- I think it's a little over the top. I give the benefit of the doubt that most of our public officials are just trying to do good, even if I disagree with their methods. I like the facts and then I decide on my own. I don't like programs preying on my fear, demonizing others and lining their pockets all the while.

I totally feel you on this one. My old music collection has gotten stale too so I find myself listening to morning news or classical. I'll have to check out AM radio though. I just check our local FM stations. There is so much going on in our world and sometimes I find it so overwhelming I just want to shut it out. But you are right and you are an example to me in so many ways. Don't worry, I wont call you a Republican.
