Super Man

There has been a wash of super hero movies that have come out in the past year: Captain America, Thor,  Green Lantern, The Avengers (not out yet but will be soon).... Movies filled with normal everyday people and the villains who torment them or wars that are being fought and lost to an evil empire of sorts. But alas, not all is lost because there is a hero on the way who will save us all from evil.

I find it interesting that given the circumstances of the world ( the economic crisis, the public unrest, untrustworthy governments and the decline of moral leadership) movies with Super heroes saving the day are filling the box office in bucket fulls. It's like we need some relief from this heat wave of this crazy unease we all feel and watching these movies some how makes us feel better. We want justice. We want to see someone pay for all that is wrong in the world. We want someone bigger than ourselves to come and make everything better. It would just be so much easier for Iron Man to come and beat those terrorists for us or the Avenger team to catch and put an end to all the greedy banker's schemes.

But sorry to break this to you. They aren't real. I know! It would be really cool if they were. But Ryan Reynolds in all of his green glory isn't going to save you from falling...any thing. It isn't going to happen.

However, there is a super hero that exists. He has the power to turn water into wine. He can walk on water. He suffered for every bad feeling, every sad illness, and every humiliation and manipulation in the garden. Why? So we wouldn't have to. Then He over came death and was resurrected. That is pretty super to me. Super awesome! So next time  when you are  wishing for some fictitious super hero to come along to save the day REMEMBER  the One real super hero who already did.  :)
