rootbeer tasteing

There is a gas station along Rt 66 right outside of Edmond, OK that has a giant soda pop bottle out front. And when I say giant I mean giant. It is the world's biggest soda pop bottle! The place is Pops and the word is so cool.

It is more than a gas station. It is a restaurant and a soda ranch. Just picture hundreds of different kinds of pop. Soda that you haven't seen in years perhaps decades, they have it. It is so fun! We went there for lunch today. Pretty yummy burgers and onion rings as well. We decided to to a rootbeer taste test for FHE tonight. We bought nine different brands of rootbeer and tried each one, cleansed our palets with homemade pizza between types.

I poured a little into everone's cup and we drank, judging on flavor and fizz. We ranked them on a scale of one to five, five being the best.

These are the brands we tried, Jones, Virgils, Faygo, Boylan, Frostie, Hanks, Rt.66, Sprecher, and Gale. Our results, not all rootbeers are build the same.

Second place is: Frostie rootbeer. It reminds me of the rootbeer I drank as a kid. Just good.

First runner up: Faygo, rootbeer, a Detriot classic.

The favorite: Hanks, it has a nice strong rootbeer presence. It's a grown up rootbeer with lots of fizz but not over whemling. This one everyone agreed was the best.

Some of the others we tried were different, like Virgils rootbeer, it is microbrewed amd has a strong anise flavor. No one liked it.

Gales rootbeer, tasted an awful lot like ginger rootbeer. It wasn't pure rootbeer.

Sprecher's rootbeer, is made with burnt honey and tastes like it too.

Pops has several other kinds of flavors these were just a few. We had a lot of fun with this. So if you ever find yourself driving down Rt 66 in Okalhoma make Pops one of your stops.

(PS, i'll add pictures later, I still can't find my camera connecter thingie)
