OU, the Zoo, and Bricktown

We went down to Norman to visit my little sister Emallie. She attends the University of Oklahoma. We walked around the campus in the 102 degree weather. Oklahoma is HOT! But they know this and had water in giants bins floating in ice on campus that we were able to grab. The people in OK are so lovely and thoughful.

We also went to the ZOO twice. To try to get people to come out in the August heat they lure them in with good deals like One Dollar Wed. at the zoo. It worked for us. We saw all sorts of snakes, zebras, bears and Hippos. Oklahoma City has a nice zoo. They have a fun kids area with a petting zoo and a cold water stream perfect for shoe stripping. We also rode on the train and went into the deer habitat. The only thing missing were the elephants. They were on a date in Tulsa with the boy elephants ;)

This a little run down of some of things we did in Oklahoma City. If you ever get there make sure you check out Bricktown . It is a very cool place to go. Nice during the day for the family and super fun at night for the grown-ups. Just goes to show that we easterner's shouldn't underestitmate midwestern "big" cities.

Hot and fun! I have been to the Oklahoma City zoo...when I was 8. My cousin and I were visiting our grandparents at the time. We got to ride on a camel. Oh the memories!

I'm glad you had fun in OK. Now you're home and I've been wanting to talk to you. HOw are you?

The zoo in any hot place is hard. I took Ella to the zoo when she was nine months old in July and it was sooo hot! If only they had had a cold stream to dip my feet in. I've banned any zoo trips unless it's in the 70's.
