We did it, we took off. We have been out of New Jersey for over two weeks now. With the summer comming to a close and all the time Matt and I have we decided to get out and explore the world for a little bit, --and crash at my parents house in Oklahoma to try to get a feel for it and see if it is a likey destination sight for our family. Turns out it could be.
We left two Sunday's ago and head south. We could have traveled straight to OK but what's the fun of that when their are friend to visit! We first stopped off in Warrenton, VA to see my beautifully pregnant friend Rebecca and her daughter Ella and hubby Shaun. While we were there we were entetained by her lovely nieces and nephew. They reminded us that "You're never fully dressed without a smile". I couldn't agree more!
After much late night chatting with Rebecca and the family we went to bed only to wake up and hit the road. On our way out of town we hit up the Apple House in Front Royal, VA to purchase some of their homemade sparkling cider ( our Virginia favorite) only to find out that they are selling the place and they no longer make the cider or the cider donuts. To say that I was devistated would be an understatement. On a brighter note, while I was on the inside finding out the sad news, Matt was in the car on his cellphone arranging a job interview with a company in OK that he didn't even apply to. Turns out my Dad had sent them his resume on Sunday, and they called him Monday before my Dad could tell him.
We reached North Carolina, the state with the prettiest name, that evening. Just in time for Troy, of Troy and Becca, to make us some scrumptious pizza with lots of red onions and pineapple and so many other wonderful toppings! It was so good! Then they took us out for a quick tour of Charlotte. It was really quick too, the downtown is really not that large. But it was so fun to be with them :) Becca is my soul sister and I don't get to see her enough.
The next day we spent with Becca and we saw Troy just a little bit, his work schedale is a little crazy. We kept busy going on walks, we went to the Children's libraray and let Peter play in the fish fountain on "The Green". Then Becca and I whipped up a cheesecake. We both had never made one before so we thought what better time to make our very first cheesecake then while we were together. It turned out really good, despite the crack across the top the size of the Grand Canyon.
Later when Troy stopped in for Dinner he got Bun Bun (their bunny) out so Peter could chase him around the apartment. Peter loved that, he even got to pet the rabbit. I think that was the highlight of the trip for him.
The next day we woke up early and said, " See you later" and off we went. Through Ashville, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis and we almost made it to Little Rock before we had to stop to rest our heads. We stopped at a little swarmy EconoLodge, ate some yummy Mexican food at a hole in the wall, swam with some frogs, gross, and ....I will leave the rest for another day.

Sounds like fun!!! I hope you end up closer to me somehow. That would be Awesome. OK is only a drive away. Miss you and I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I look forward to hearing about the rest of your trip although I know the best part was seeing Becca and I... j/k. Family visits may rank up there too. I am really excited to hear about Matt's potential job in Oklahoma. I would love to come visit you there. But I'll visit you anywhere my friend. You are the best!
