Staycation! Memorial Day Weekend

Instead of going away from home on this holiday weekend, we decided to have a staycation! We went into Philly and played tourist. It was so much fun. We have lived right outside of Philadelphia for almost 3 years now and there is still so much I haven't seen. This is the "Rocky" statue right below the art museum. Right after we took this photo Peter put his arms up into the air like Rocky. It was funny!

This is me after my "Rocky" run up the Art Museum steps. I had always wanted to do it. That's a check off the to do list.
We walked over to Matt's office on 30th and Market. He gave us the grand tour and showed off his cubical :)
Out of all of his co-workers office spaces his was the most orderly. I was not surprised.

Peter just couldn't make himself stay awake the whole time.

The fountains

Love Park

City Hall

Across the street from City Hall there is a plaza filled with giant size game pieces. They were fun to climb on and we took lots of pictures of Peter. Just seemed like the perfect spot for a photo shoot!

Monopoly anyone?

Peter is sitting on a giant top hat.

Sorry!

We had so much fun exploring our town! We also went to the Reading Terminal Market and fun looking around there. So much to see in that busy place. Tons of vendors and eateries. The Amish also sell there baked goods there. By the time we got there Peter had had enough and demanded that we take him home. So we did.

So all in all, we walked down by the Schuylkill River, went to Matt's office, trekked up to the Art Museum and then headed down Ben Franklin Blvd to City Hall, then on to Reading Terminal Market. On our way we passed a man wearing a snake. I mean a giant yellow Python! He had a sign, Pictures $5. Philly is just full of surprises. Every time I go into the city I something totally new and unexpected. I love it! It was nice to just stay home and enjoy what our area has to offer. Staycations, get to know your town!
