NKOTB

The dream: I would go to a concert and Donnie would pick me out of the crowd and pull me up on stage. We would dance to Cover Girl together and then he would bend down and kiss me on the cheek and whisper "Look me up when you are older" in my ear. I would grow up and move to Boston for college where I would run into Donnie accidentally in the street in front of the Cheers bar and he would remember me and we would go off and be together forever.

The reality: I never got to go to a concert and I have never been to Boston and I am not married to Donnie Walberg.

About a month ago my friend Emily called me up and told me that NKOTB got back together. She wanted to see them because when she was a little girl she dreamed of going to a concert and running off into the sunset with Jordan Knight but she was tooo young and her parents were too poor just like me. So we decided to go to the concert and fulfill a childhood dream.

This is Emily all pumped up and ready to dance!

OMG we had so much fun!!! Emily took a train down from NYC and I picked her up from the 30th St. Station. It was raining and yucky out side but we didn't care. We were 11 again except we could drive. We arrived at the Wachovia Center shooting pictures and laughing out loud. Lady Gaa Gaa was on stage when we hiked up to the very very very tippy top of the Wachovia Center. There were some drunk girls sitting next to us but as soon as Natasha Beddingfeild went on stage they moved down to claim some unclaimed seats so we had much of the top row to ourselves. We sat and tried to get excited about who was onstage but we were antsy for NKTOB to appear.

Our nose bleed seats

When they finally appeared on stage I freaked out! I was surprised at how much screaming I was doing. I saw Donnie and I felt the same way I did when I was 11, totally crazy for him (don't tell Matt). It lasted for the first few songs and then I finally came back to me senses.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! New Kids on The Block!

The boys were the same except a little more mature. They looked great! Danny "Monkey Face" Wood was now Danny "Hottie Face" Wood, Joey McIntyre still had that curly hair and reminded me a lot of my Matthew (my hottie) , Donnie looked so good in his vest and hats (he is the only one who is balding I guess) and Jordan and Jonathon looked pretty much the same just older. Their dance moves were better than when they were young. They had about 20 costume changes I swear. But they looked so good!

They sang all of their old songs and some new ones. My favorite was Hangin' Tough and I'll be Loving You Forever, and The Right Stuff. It was so fun being silly and dancing like a tween.

Some of the ladies in the audience got a little out of control as bras began to appear on stage, some people's children! The show ended up being a little more mature than it probably was 15 years ago. Back then their fan base was a crowd of 9-16 years olds. This time around their fan base is women age 27-35. Can you imagine the difference?

All in all it was fun but it wouldn't have been as much fun if I hadn't gone with my long time friend Emily. I am so glad that she is back on the east coast. I always have so much fun with her. We met when we were nannies up in North Jersey back in 2000. I am so glad that we are still friends. I love you Susan EMILY Mouli, Everybodies hero and the Brains behind the Operation!!!

Thanks for helping me fulfill one of my childhood dreams! I never would have done it without you! OUY KCOR!

I laughed out loud so many times reading this post. Hilariious! I love that you thought that they were cuter than ever - how could you see them from where you were? But I have to admit I'm pretty jealous.

Keeping up with the Bonacci's said...

We saw everything on the big screen. Close ups and all!
