Hickory Run

We went camping recently in the Poconos. It was the first time we left Pete over night. He stayed with his Nan and Pop. We both did fine! I called on Saturday morning to find out how things were turning out and all I could hear in the background was him cooing and gooing and doing that gurgley thing in the back of his throat that he does. I knew he was happy and having fun. Plus he got to spend some time with his cousins before they moved to Oregon.

We has fun too! We had a bit of not-so-much-fun rain on Friday night as our friends Missy and Nick were setting up their tent. We all jumped in to help and consequently got soaked! We then had to save our food and gear as it was left under a non water proof canopy. We had to throw a tarp over it before it got too wet. It was cool to see the mist falling on all of our camping gear as we all hustled around trying to cover the canopy. After all was said and done we all huddled together under the now water proof canopy and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on our camp stoves. So much for the huge fire we had built... It rained really hard for 3 hours.

Saturday was GORGEOUS! We hiked and played with tad poles (we saw some of the largest tad poles I had ever seen!)and played on rocks. This picture is of Boulder Field. It was so cool! We walked across it, well I stumbled across it. I have balance issues! We also hiked to beautiful water falls and really enjoyed ourselves. I can't wait to go back!

Wow look at those rocks! I'm jealous... I wish we had someone to watch the kids overnight. Maybe next spring.

Oh no, that's not me. But thanks for thinking so! That is Missy, she collasped in exhaustion and took a nap on the rocks.
